‘Requiem’ sells out for Jones Scholarship

On March 15, College Now and Peter Lawson Jones hosted a sold-out evening featuring the professional U.S. theatre and English-translation premiere of “Requiem” at Cleveland Public Theatre. Peter Lawson Jones is featured in the lead role of the play which runs through April 6, and the event benefitted the Charles & Margaret Jones Scholarship Fund at College Now. The event raised nearly $7,000, which will directly support area students who are pursuing their postsecondary degrees at Ohio University, Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, Eastern Michigan University and Northwestern University. The fundraiser included a talk-back with Peter Lawson Jones and WKYC-TV3 anchor Christi Paul.

Peter Lawson Jones, a well-known attorney, former elected official, business consultant and professional actor established the scholarship named for his parents 25 years ago to honor their dedication to education. Margaret Jones was a Cleveland public school teacher and Charles Jones was a college administrator. Both Margaret and Charles had an unshakable belief in the power of education. To date, 14 Jones scholars have graduated from college and two are currently enrolled and pursuing their degrees.

College Now would like to thank Peter Lawson Jones and the Jones family for their continued generous support and commitment to education through the Charles & Margaret Jones Scholarship Fund! We are also grateful to Cleveland Public Theatre for making the event such a success.
