Colleges That Change Lives Scholarship

Application deadline:
Friday, March 15

The Colleges That Change Lives (CTCL) Scholarship is open to ALL current high school seniors who plan to enroll at a CTCL member institution as first-time undergraduates for the 2024-2025 academic year. Two awards totaling $6,000 will be made, which is $1,500 per year for four years. Ohio-based CTCL schools include Antioch College, College of Wooster, Denison University, Hiram College and Ohio Wesleyan University.

James L. Torain Scholarship for Future Mental Health Professionals

Application deadline:
Friday, March 15

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must identify as African American and either reside in Northeast Ohio while attending a high school in the area or be current college students who previously graduated from a Northeast Ohio high school. Prospective high school seniors should anticipate graduating by August 15, 2024, while current college students must be enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university.

2024 LaCelia Lemon Scholarship for Criminal Justice, Criminology, Forensic Science and Law

Application deadline:
Friday, March 15

Applicants must identify as African American who either currently reside in and attend a high school situated in Northeast Ohio or are current college students who previously resided in and graduated from a Northeast Ohio high school. Eligible candidates include high school seniors expected to graduate by August 15, 2024 or current college students enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. 

2024 Melvin L. Russell Scholarship for Engineering Students

Application deadline: Wednesday, March 27

Applicants must identify as African American and reside in Cuyahoga County while attending a local high school or be current college students who previously resided in and graduated from a Cuyahoga County high school.  Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. 

Resettled Refugee Visible Voice Scholarship

Application deadline: Wednesday, April 3

Applicants must be a resettled refugee living in Cuyahoga County, a graduating high school senior in spring 2024, intend to enroll full-time at an accredited public or private not-for-profit institution with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years. 

Jane Edna Hunter Scholarship

Application deadline:
Thursday, April 25

The Jane Edna Hunter Scholarship provides needs-based financial assistance for full-time undergraduate women under the age of 30, who are residents of Ohio or South Carolina. 

Marcia LaRichie Scholarship

Application deadline: Wednesday, May 1

Applicants must identify as African The Marcia LaRiche Scholarship was established to assist dependent children of parents who have been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and live in Northeast Ohio. Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant’s scholastic record, student community service, student essays, ACT and SAT test scores, financial need and recommendations from individuals familiar with the applicant.  

Jeanne Lucas Memorial Scholarship

Application deadline: Wednesday, May 1

The National Test Prep Association’s Jeanne Lucas Memorial Scholarship is a one-time grant of $500 that will be awarded to multiple students. This scholarship is open to all high school students graduating in 2024.
