“Requiem” Presented by Peter Lawson Jones
Join College Now for an unforgettable evening at the Cleveland Public Theatre (6415 Detroit Avenue) on Friday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. as we present a special fundraising event featuring the play “Requiem,” written by the acclaimed Israeli playwright Hanoch Levin and directed by the talented Raymond Bobgan. This unique fundraiser, brought to you by the renowned actor, playwright and former elected official Peter Lawson Jones, will support College Now’s Charles & Margaret Jones Scholarship Fund.
Requiem dares to tackle the big questions of “life and death” with poetry, frankness and a lot of humor. One old man embarks on a series of journeys to ward off death failing to see the life all around him amidst the colorful characters he encounters along the way. This ground-breaking North American professional English language premiere resets the play in an American landscape and stars Cleveland’s own Peter Lawson Jones in the central role. Following the play, there will be a post-performance dessert reception and talkback with Peter Lawson Jones.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a thought-provoking performance while supporting College Now’s Charles & Margaret Jones Scholarship Fund! Since The Fund’s inception in 1998, over $42,000 in scholarship support has been awarded! To date, fourteen Jones Scholars have graduated from college and two are currently enrolled and pursuing their degrees.
