The Cuyahoga County Debt Repayment program offers eligible residents a one-time payment of up to $2,000 to help pay off debt and return to college to complete their degree at Cleveland State University or Cuyahoga Community College.
Eligibility:
-Have resided in Cuyahoga County for at least one year
-Have been previously enrolled at a public higher education institution located in the state of Ohio and has been stopped out for at least one (1) semester
-Have previously incurred institutional debt from that institution that is currently preventing continued progression to certificate, degree or credential (not including federal student loan debt)
-Seek to re-enroll at Cleveland State University or Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C)
-Meet federal Pell Grant income eligibility requirements through submission of a Student Aid Report or Institutional Award Letter
Process and required documents: Complete the required pre-application form
-Schedule an appointment with the College Now Adult Programs team here and select “past due appointment”
-Bring the following documents to your appointment:
-2023/2024 FAFSA Student Aid Report (this can be done at your meeting if it has not been completed already)
-Student tuition bill
This is a one-time award and cannot be renewed.
