The Office of US Senator Sherrod Brown is excited to announce applications for the Propel Ohio 2023 Student Leadership Conference are now being accepted. Applications will be accepted until September 5th at 11:59pm. You can find the application here.
This is the first in-person Propel Conference since 2019. The conference will be held on October 6th at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. This year’s theme is civic engagement with a focus on finding your “why.” Students will hear from speakers including Senator Brown, Connie Schultz, 2022 National Teacher of the Year Kurt Russell and Dr. Hanna-Attisha (who wrote What the Eyes Don’t See about her work on behalf of children affected by the Flint water crisis). Students will also participate in an engagement fair with the opportunity to network with organizations doing meaningful work across Ohio.
We encourage you to apply if you are an undergraduate student leader or want to become one! The goal of Propel Ohio is to engage a diverse group of students to participate in meaningful conversations around the importance of civic engagement in colleges and universities across Ohio. This free non-partisan program is designed for any undergraduate student at an Ohio college or university interested in engaging with their community, regardless of their major.
Once the application process has closed, the Office of the President at each Ohio college/university will review the applications submitted by students at their school and select up to four students to represent them at the event. Each school may also designate one administrator to attend.
