Christina Sunga Ryook Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship support as a memorial to honor the life of Christina Sunga Ryook, a graduate of the University of Michigan and Westlake High School, who died in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001. The Christina Sunga Ryook Memorial Scholarship is for Westlake High School graduates who will be attending the University of Michigan. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, leadership, personality, and financial need.

Eligibility: Westlake High School senior with a minimum 2.0 GPA and planning to attend the University of Michigan.

Selection Process: Contact Westlake High School guidance office.

Award Info: The award amount will be based on the performance of the fund and number of applicants selected. Past awards have been for $4,000. Award will be paid directly to the institution and must be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies and/or equipment required for coursework.

Awarded Student Requirements:
1. Maintain full-time enrollment status

2. Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA

Renewal: This is a one-time award and may not be renewed for subsequent years.
